Let us tell you about Liberi Nantes…at the Football Festival of Perugia

Tomorrow, June 5, we are sending a small delegation to Umbria for the last day of the Festival of Football and Sport, which began on June 2.

So what is the Festival of Football of Perugia?

logo perugia…it is about sport not just as a sporting or social phenomenon, but also as emotion, spectacle and the collective imagination. As an epic story but also stories of individuals. How it is stitched together by national identity and how it can be a way of knowing more about life and society. Football as a universal language: the first word learned by children. Playing….

 

A sporting festival, therefore, but in the context of narrative, of handing down through the first-person accounts of many guests, from the legends of football to realities like our own.

In particular, we highlight from the programme the meeting at which we were invited to tell our story:

FOOTBALL IS A GAME WITHOUT BORDERS: Real De Banjul vs Liberi Nantes

A meeting dedicated to respect and social inclusion, which will feature as guests the players of Liberi Nantes (with the president Alberto Urbinati) and of Afrotiberina Real De Banjul (with the manager Giacomo Barni) – two football teams made up of refugees and asylum seekers. Also present will be Itamar Silva, director of IBASE (The Brazilian Institute of Social and Economic Analysis), and organiser of the “Colônia de Férias” Campus, created to promote the right to play in the Favela of Santa Marta, in Rio de Janeiro. He will present this activity of international cooperation together with Zero in Condotta.


Afterwards, the film “Loro di Napoli”, directed by Piero Li Donni, will be shown, and will be presented by the director himself.
