Together for the Aniene river, the initiative of the Lanciani Hill Committee

On Sunday May 7, 2017, for Open House Rome, the volunteers of We of the Lanciani Hill accompanied people in the discovery of the Acea Bridge and the project being planned which, through the bridge, would create a nature trail allowing, for the first time, the creation of a connection between the Tiburtina station and Sempione Park.

We were there.

Liberi Nantes answered the call of the Lanciani Hill Committee and the international initiative of Open House for the redevelopment of the Aniene Valley Nature Reserve.

Yet again the historical, natural and archaeological heritage of the city has been abandoned by the institutions. In the heart of the Pietralata district, a green area of great naturalistic value is bisected by the Aniene in such a way as to deny the local inhabitants the chance of using the Acea bridge to pass from one side to the other.

Thanks to the interest of the Lanciani hill association, an appeal has been launched to support the public right to use these passageways. Once again the direct commitment of ordinary citizens seems the only possible way to redevelop the public spaces of the city.
