The destination of the excursion is the enchanting Aniene waterfalls, <\/strong>and the surrounding highlands. The walk will take about three hours <\/strong>there and back.<\/p>\n The whole route of the footpath, which rise to about 400m, is found in the heart of the Simbruini<\/strong>\u00a0Park<\/strong>, beside a nature reserve.<\/p>\n The source of the Aniene river <\/strong>is an underground spring, the area where the water emerges being known by everyone locally as Fiumata<\/strong>. Between the rocks immersed in the cold clear water of the river it is possible to make out the occasional trout, while climbing up the easy path towards the waterfalls you pass through woods of beech trees and fields which, in these spring months, are covered with mountain gentians. During the climb, guarding the way, are two of the most beautiful peaks on Lazio: Mount Tarino<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mount Cotento<\/strong>\u00a0(2,000m).<\/p>\n Summary<\/span> <\/strong> For us, bringing to an end a year rich with satisfaction, shared together, step by step, will be a real celebration.
